Kawakawa Collection
Kawakawa is a native plant to New Zealand, traditionally a medicinal plant used by the Maori people in healing, used both externally and internally to treat a large range of health conditions .
We have foraged the dense bush land surrounding Te Mata Peak and Waimarama Beach to harvest these bright green, heart shaped leaves.
It’s leaves and roots are used in many ways. At Ora we have infused Kawakawa into our products and thanks to its anti-bacterial properties it can be used to soothe skin conditions, such as eczema, cuts, bruises, insect bites, rashes and grazes. Its anti-inflammatory ability works to ease pain and discomfort associated with swollen joints and inflammation caused by arthritis and starts to heal the body.
